چکیده

Drought is a major abiotic stress forced by the changing climate that affects plant production and soil structure functions. A study was conducted to explore impacts of ascorbic acid (AsA) ?-tocopherol (?-toc) on agro-physiological attributes antioxidant enzymes chickpea grown in water deficit regions. The results analysis showed electrical conductivity (EC) pH were decreased from 521 mS/m 7.08 151 6.6 20-day drought regimes, respectively. Agronomic outcomes exogenous application AsA ?-toc increased germination rate index (GRI), mean time (MGT), energy (GE), use efficiency (WUE), percentage (GP), seed vigor (SVI). However, all above experienced decline under 10- stress. Similarly, Chl. a, b, carotenoids, proline, protein, sugar, glycine betaine, hydrogen peroxide contents significantly increased. Meanwhile, malondialdehyde, glutathione reductase, enzymatic antioxidants (APOX, SOD, POD) during drought, except CAT, which drought. fertigation these growth regulators improved photosynthetic pigments non-enzymatic stressed plants. current research concludes simultaneous dusting could be an efficient technique mitigate antagonistic might linked regulation defense systems.

GENETIC DIVERGENCE IN CHICKPEA (Cicer arietinum L.)

Genetic diversity of 27 chickpea genotypes was studied through Mahalanobis D and Principal Component analysis. The genotypes under study fall into five clusters. The cluster II contained the highest number of genotypes (11) and Cluster I contained the lowest. Cluster I produced the highest mean value for number of pods per plant. The inter cluster distances were much higher than the intra clust...

Characterising root trait variability in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) germplasm

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is an important grain legume crop but its sustainable production is challenged by predicted climate changes, which are likely to increase production limitations and uncertainty in yields. Characterising the variability in root architectural traits in a core collection of chickpea germplasm will provide the basis for breeding new germplasm with suitable root traits ...

Determination of Photoperiod-Sensitive Phase in Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)

Photoperiod is one of the major environmental factors determining time to flower initiation and first flower appearance in plants. In chickpea, photoperiod sensitivity, expressed as delayed to flower under short days (SD) as compared to long days (LD), may change with the growth stage of the crop. Photoperiod-sensitive and -insensitive phases were identified by experiments in which individual p...

Direct Regeneration of Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) from Adventitious Buds

The seeds of ten different genotypes of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) originated from Egypt, ICARDA and Saudi Arabia, were used to screen their tissue culture response on various media combination. MS media supplemented with 1, 2 and 4 mg of each of IBA and transzeatin /l, were tested. The results showed that stem results were far better from leaves explants. The callus induction ranged from 6....
